Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Housekeeping Supervisor

  • Supervises housekeeping staff as duties are being performed.
  • Supervises the duties and tasks of laundry staff.
  • Stocks and maintains supply rooms.
  • Meets with sr. staff regularly in order to provide progress reports and address issues.
  • Meets with Banquet Coordinators to fulfill weekly linen orders.
  • Develops a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule.
  • Completes yearly reviews of the housekeeping department.
  • Receives, processes, and handles guest complaints in regard to housekeeping services.
  • Ensures that rooms are kept clean and free from hazards.
  • Ensures that all common areas are kept clean and free from hazards.
  • Organizes all staff and hosts weekly meetings with housekeeping staff.
  • Evaluating the quality of work performed by staff members and providing annual salary reviews.
  • Assists all departments with housekeeping requests.
  • Provide a high level of customer service. Remain professional.
  • Hires and fires housekeeping staff; trains new housekeepers after hire.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understands the principles behind providing excellent customer service.
  • Possesses the ability to manage a team of housekeepers effectively.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills required for ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Shows basic budgeting skills and the ability to keep cleaning supplies and equipment stocked according to a budget.
  • Exhibits the ability to teach others how to do their jobs in a friendly, courteous, and effective manner.
  • Can perform several tasks at the same time.
  • Shows basic computer knowledge for the purposes of scheduling, recordkeeping and more.
